Description
Crispy-edged, tender-centered air fryer carrot fries with smoky-garlic seasoning. Fast weeknight side, minimal oil, big flavor.
Ingredients
1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into ¼-inch batons ,1 to 1½ teaspoons olive oil ,¾ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to finish, ½ teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, ¼ teaspoon ground cumin (optional), Pinch chili powder or cayenne (optional), Chopped parsley and lemon wedges, for serving Grated Parmesan, optional
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes. Cut carrots into ¼-inch batons and pat dry thoroughly. Toss carrots with oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika (plus cumin or chili powder if using). Load a single layer into the basket. Air fry 10–12 minutes, shaking at the halfway point. Check a fry; add 1–2 minutes for deeper browning if needed. Season hot with a pinch of salt. Garnish with parsley, lemon, and Parmesan
Notes
Cut size drives timing: shoestring 7–9 minutes at 380°F; ⅓-inch batons 12–15 minutes at 400°F.
Use perforated liners for easy cleanup without blocking airflow.
Batch cook for best crisp. Keep finished fries on a rack while you cook the next batch.
Add honey or maple after cooking to avoid burning.
